THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED
Q&A with director Kirby Dick & producer Eddie Schmidt
First New York sneak preview!
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has long been controversial for its secretive process and capricious decisions on NC-17 ratings, a classification that can commercially kill a film. Hiring a private investigator, director Kirby Dick examines for the first time who sits on this board, how sex and violence are treated differently, and whether studios get different treatment from independents. With appearances by Kevin Smith, Kimberly Peirce, Darren Aronofsky. The film was among the most talked about titles at Sundance Film Festival (2006):
