Jury prize winner at Silverdocs, this hilarious film follows a third grade class in China as it experiments with democracy by electing class monitors. Egged on by teachers and parents, the eight-year-olds turn into political power brokers overnight, seeking to influence the votes of fellow classmates with presents, promises and negative campaigning. Director Weijun Chen lives in Wuhan, China where the film was shot. His previous film TO LIVE IS TO BETTER THAN TO DIE won wide acclaim.
